With unemployment on the rise there has never been such a good time for getting some computer training. Even if you have a job at the moment, none of us can be sure that it will last and so it is a really good idea to work hard at trying to get our qualifications up to date. It will look much better on your resume if you have got some recent qualifications, not only because you will be more skilled but because it will be obvious that you are up for training and prepared to still do things to better yourself.

There are many computer classes available and it can be tricky knowing what to do. If you already have some qualifications it may be worth building on those. However, it is important to have a look at the job market, find out what skills people are looking for. You can do this by looking through classifieds on line and in your local newspaper. This should help you decide whether the skills you have are sought after. If they are, then improving them is a great thing to do. However, if they are not, then you will be better off doing some training in an area which is currently sought after. Even if you just have some basic training, it may put you above some other candidates and if you still have a job then you will have time to keep building on that training so that you are more qualified in that area if you do need to find something. It may seem like a big step, to start training in a new area, but learning new skills is good for us and these days most people do not follow the same career for the whole of their working life. It can also make things more interesting if you change the focus of your work, it may be the break that you are looking for.

You may even find that once you get more qualifications, that you can find a higher paying job, maybe within your company or in another one. Even in the current job market there are opportunities to get more money and it is always worth looking around to see what is available and whether you can better yourself. So consider computer training as well of improving your employment prospects and also as a way to better yourself.
